Night Photography with Colin Chatfield

Learn about taking photographs at night with famous Saskatchewan photographer Colin Chatfield. This two hour class explains the process of night photography.  Then we hike into the Avonlea Badlands to catch the milky way from a picturesque near-dark sky location.  Please bring a camera capable of long exposures, a tripod and a flashlight or headlamp (preferred). Timelapse Workshop with Notanee Bourassa

Attend this informative workshop led by SK's premiere timelapse photographer, Notanee Bourassa. 

  • 3-5pm workshop in Avonlea Heritage Museum - Learn how to achieve timelapse photography. Notanee will explain camera methods, post processing batches and final assembly. Discussion about astro calculations.
  • 5-6pm Break for supper
  • 6-8pm Guided hike into the Avonlea Badlands to catch moonrise and sunset on the Autumnal Equinox

  • Camera
  • Tripod
  • Flashlight or headlamp (preferred) with red filter (preferred)
  • Warm clothing
  • Good walking footwear
  • Backpack (recommended)
  • Notebook or laptop for taking notes (optional)
  • Intervalometer or remote trigger (optional)
  • extra battery/card (optional)

** Please note that the hike into the Avonlea Badlands is 2 kilometres roundtrip and we will have to carry our gear. But the results are worth it!
