Dirt Hills Archeological Tour

Attend this u-drive guided tour (about 60 kilometres roundtrip) to archaeological sites on private land in the Avonlea area. First, we visit the Ridgway Man Effigy to learn about stone formations and local history there. The tour continues to the Dirt Hills to see the Claybank Ceremonial Circle. Visitors learn about celestial alignments at summer and winter solstices and how this large stone circle is like Stonehenge. We thank local landowners for allowing us to visit these sites. High clearance vehicles recommended, but not required.
